Are your gums in need of some love?

I have to admit that I have been a little neglectful in the teeth department since the trio came along (I mean it's not like I was busy or anything!) So, I took the plunge and organised a family trip to my quite unsympathetic dentist earlier this month, where she told me that I had swollen gums and was at risk of developing gum disease! What?! I have never had a problem with my teeth or gums, I don't even have any fillings! She said that pregnancy can bring about all sorts of hormonal changes affecting teeth and gum health and I needed to act quickly to avoid further damage.

Anyway, after my dentist had thoroughly butchered my poor mouth explaining that she had removed all the plaque (whilst I think repositioning my jaw) she explained that I needed to take better care of my teeth by flossing every day (chore!) as well as using a pro gum toothpaste and mouthwash.

The #OralBLoveYourGums challenge couldn't have come at a better time. I started using the Oral-B Pro-Expert Premium Gum Protection toothpaste right away and after a only a week of using it together with my new Oral B electric toothbrush my gums had stopped bleeding whilst flossing and my mouth felt a lot less tender. It also tastes pretty good too, unlike some of the other pro-gum toothpastes and mouthwashes available.

I have also had my husband using it as he was told that he needed to buck up his ideas and look after his teeth and he too has noticed a significant difference!

In my opinion I think that a combination of the Oral-B Pro-Expert Premium Gum Protection toothpaste, electric brush and mouthwash has significantly improved the condition of my teeth and gums and I suspect has eradicated the pending gum disease.

My advice if you want to try and avoid a telling off from your dentist (as well as a rearranging of your jaw), gum disease and the extortionate costs of dental treatment you should invest in some Oral-B Pro-Expert Premium Gum Protection toothpaste.

Oral-B also have lots of excellent advice as well as further information about their products on their website www.oralb.co.uk.

  1. You are taking action now. I too have neglected my teeth and gums over the years. As you say, mums are busy people. Commenting for myself and on behalf of BritMums and thanking you for taking part.
